On April 1st, we will conclude our TJC Breakfast Series: Season 1 by returning to where we began by talking about our DREAMS for this community. After a delicious breakfast provided by Zub’s Catering, Dr. Jeff Duke will deliver a power-packed message on the topic “Legacy.” Jeff is a former football coach at Florida State University, professor at UCF, and is the founder of the 3D Institute.

After Jeff’s message, we will hear from a panel of different community leaders who will be discussing “Our Dreams for St. Joseph.” Finally, Mary Hinde of the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri will close us out with announcements about our April 29th “Team Captains Breakfast” and “The 3D Journey” that will be launching across the community starting in September 2022. She will conclude by sharing a little more of our dream for what The Joseph Company might become as Northwest Missouri’s Center for Transforming Culture.

    Alan Hoffler is the Executive Director and Principal Trainer at MillsWyck Communications. Raised around America’s Space Program, Alan Hoffler has earned degrees in aerospace engineering and applied mathematics, but his true passion is teaching. Midway into his 25 years of training technical corporate audiences, instructing in the college classroom, teaching public high school, and speaking nationally to pilots about flying safety, he discovered the joy in helping others communicate with excellence. He believes that communication has the power to change a person, an organization, a community, and the world. With a coach’s passion, a teacher’s heart, and an engineer’s mind, he creates practical paths to greatness for his clients. When he’s not speaking or training, he stays active serving in the local chapter of his professional organization, supporting activities and instructing in his local church, and enjoying the privileges of his commercial pilot’s license. His blog identifies solutions to common communication foibles and highlights his analytical eye and desire to improve himself as well as his clients.

    Alan is the author of Presentation Sin: The Practical Guide to Stop Offending (and Start Impressing) Your Audience. He is also the co-author of Silver Goldfish: The 10 Keys to Delivering Memorable Business Presentations. His books are a collection of relatable stories from the trenches and 100+ communication tips based on his 25-year career and his observations from thousands of hours speaking on stage, coaching speakers, and training in the classroom. Alan is also the co-author of 6 Steps Forward: Every Man Matters and leads retreats based on the concepts in the book. His most challenging training endeavor is also his most enjoyable – raising two children.

  • Demetrius Chance
    Demetrius Chance

    A Fayetteville native, Demetrius has used his past experiences and battles with mental illness as avenues to help others. As a former Lieutenant security officer in the state of North Carolina Demetrius has used his training and leadership skills over the years as a way to inspire and empower those he meets. Demetrius is a loving husband to Dr. Nuchelle Chance, a Psychology Professor at Fort Hays State University, and dedicated father of 5.

    Demetrius is a para-educator for the USD489 School District, he is a full-time student at Fort Hays State University. He is the President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness on the campus of Fort Hays State University, as well as an advisory member and marketing personnel for the Fort Hays State University’s Black Student Union. In December of 2020, was nominated and recently inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.

    Demetrius was elected and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Ellis County. He is also the Co-founder of the BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) Community of Ellis County. Demetrius is a very strong advocate for the Black Lives Matter Movement. Formally diagnosed with several mental diagnoses himself, Demetrius has become an international mentor and support personnel for all who suffer with mental health illness. Demetrius says, “with everything I have been through in my life, all I want to do is make a difference in other people’s lives.”

    Demetrius has great aspirations to not only expand Can You See Me?, as a brand but also to further his career in public speaking. He is very optimistic and eager to find out what new endeavors lay ahead for him.

  • Dr. Jeff Duke, E.D.d.
    Dr. Jeff Duke, E.D.d.

    Dr. Jeff Duke is one of the foremost experts regarding the cultural influence of the coaching profession in our society. He has developed and authored the 3D Coaching framework that is revolutionizing the sport coaching landscape. Dr. Duke has coached five different sports and directly supervised 200 plus coaches in 17 different sports. His coaching experience encompasses the youth level through the professional ranks, which includes a multi-year stint as an assistant football coach at Florida State University under legendary coach, Bobby Bowden. Jeff also spent eight years as an international expert on coaching education development pre/post the Atlanta Olympic Games.

    Currently, Dr. Duke is on staff as a lecturer at the University of Central Florida where he teaches the 3D Coaching concept to both undergraduate and graduate students in the coaching education degree program. In addition to his teaching load, Dr. Duke is highly sought after to lead 3Dimensional Coaching workshops all around the world. On a regular basis, you will find Dr. Duke traveling across the United States sharing the 3D Coaching framework with coaches at all levels.

    Jeff currently resides in Clermont, Florida with his wife of 40+ years, Dana. Jeff and Dana are the proud parents of 4 grown sons: Bo, Cameron, Mark and Matt.

  • Dr. Robert Corder, M.D.
    Dr. Robert Corder, M.D.

    Dr. Robert L Corder is an Addiction Medicine Specialist in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Dr. Corder was a practicing OB/GYN physician in St. Joseph, Missouri, for over four decades. And despite retiring from that wonderful profession, he realized that the opioid epidemic was something that he could serve and address in his community.
    Corder shared how the work he has done has impacted him.

    “I used to deliver babies and occasionally save somebody’s life, this has been just as satisfying, perhaps even more to take somebody who didn’t have a life and see them turn their lives around,” Corder said. “We can treat their addiction, and they can suddenly have their families back, they can get a job, they can be a productive citizen, instead of stealing, you know, go into prison, etc. And I tell you, to see that (change), it’s just amazing.”

    Lori McAlister

    Lori is the Managing Director at Saint Joseph Symphony. She is administratively gifted promoter with a flair for creativity. She is a natural networker, exemplary written communication skills, very comfortable with public speaking and teaching. Capable vsionary, program planner and developer.

    Specialties: Live performance facilitation; collaboration for underwriting partners; grant writing; research and reporting; creation of print promotional materials; compose & disseminate press releases; Celtic culture research, presentations and promotion; designed international tours to Scotland and Ireland; created a dance & music program for The Lewis & Clark Bicenntenial called “Celts of the Corps”; frequent guest on Friday Live radio show to promote local arts & humanities presentations; design t-shirts

  • Mary Hinde
    Mary Hinde

    Mary Hinde is the President/ CEO of the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri. She was born and raised in St. Joseph, MO and is committed to the communities of Northwest Missouri. She is the fourth generation on both sides of her family to stay in the area and work towards its betterment. She has a proven track record of a results oriented leader. Mrs. Hinde’s creative ability coupled with her administrative skills serves the Community Foundation well.

    Mrs. Hinde attended Hollins College in Roanoke where she received her BA in English. She studied at the University of London during those years and then The New York School of Interior Design where she received an Interior Design Degree. Mrs. Hinde has completed some graduate seminary work at Trinity International. She maintains her professional membership in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

  • Natalie Redmond
    Natalie Redmond

    As President and CEO of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, Natalie Redmond oversees all of the Chamber’s activities, including economic development, membership and administration. In partnership with the business community, the Chamber identifies and facilitates the accomplishment of goals that lead to a strong, vibrant business environment.
    Before being promoted to the president position she served as the Senior Vice President of Membership. Prior to joining the Chamber in August of 2005, she worked for Woody Bibens & Associates in St. Joseph as the Tradeshow & Educational Manager for the WESTERN Nursery & Landscape Association. Prior to that, Ms. Redmond was the Regional Account Manager for Pryor Resources, Inc. in Overland Park, Kansas.

    Ms. Redmond graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, emphasis in Public Relations.

    Ms. Redmond is a United Way volunteer, graduate of Leadership St. Joseph, past president or chairman of the board for the Junior League of St. Joseph, YWCA, Allied Arts Association, Mosaic Auxiliary and Chamber Executives of Missouri. She also serves on the following boards: Missouri Western State University Alumni, St. Joseph School District Foundation, Mosaic Auxiliary, Specialty Industries, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Oak Grove PTA, Innovation Stockyard and St. Joseph Sports Commission.

    Rev. Doug Walter

    Doug assumed duties of Senior Pastor at Ashland July 2, 2017. He has served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church for 32 years; serving in Dearborn, Lake Ozark, and Salem, Missouri.
    When Doug isn’t in the office he is spending time with family and running the Parkway. Doug and his family are avid MIZZOU sports fans and follow their Tigers whenever possible. Doug and his wife Carol have three grown children; Jess and Eric Soete, and grandsons Abe, Jackson, Ingram and Rockwell live in Columbia, Mo. Pete and Caitlin Walter and granddaughter Ada live in Liberty, Mo. Mark Walter also lives in Liberty, MO. The Walters also share their lives with Mo and Maggie their beloved pups and Snap their independent thinking cat.

    Stacia is the K-12 Curriculum Director for the St. Joseph School District. She firmly believes that our children are our greatest natural resource. She invests all of her time and energy into making connections and building a rapport, setting high academic standards with rigorous instruction and relevant lessons, and monitoring each individual child so they they experience success and meet/exceed expectations set by the state/district.

  • Wes Simmons
    Wes Simmons

    Wes Simmons is the President/CEO of the 3D Institute. He also serves as a national 3Dimensional Coaching presenter who has delivered workshops to thousands of coaches at every level of sport. From youth sports clubs to college athletic departments, from local school districts to National conventions, from Florida to California, Wes has captured audiences with the 3Dimensional Coaching content while sharing his personal experience of both playing for, and coaching with, a 3D coach.

    Wes played college football at Northwest Missouri State University where he started on back-to-back NCAA DII National Championship teams. Upon graduation, he began his coaching career at Northwest while completing his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration. Since that time, his career has shifted from on-field coaching to coaching both athletes and coaches in all areas of life.

    In addition to his speaking schedule, Wes serves as the CEO for 3D Institute. He resides in St. Joseph, MO, where he lives with his wife Amy and their 4 children.
