A City Built to Launch Dreams
St. Joseph has always been a city of coaches.
It was a destination city — not as a landing point, but as a launching point.
In the early days, people arrived here from all over the world by stagecoach. Lines stretched for miles and people waited for weeks. On those coaches were their valuables, their families, their possessions, and their dreams.
They came to resourced.
They came to be equipped.
They came to launch in pursuit of their dream.
Once again, that is who we are becoming.
Like those early pioneers, this is an invitation for young leaders to bring their dreams to St. Joseph — where we are recovering our historic role as a place of preparation and launch, now expressed through the 3D Leadership Residency.

The 3D Leadership Residency
The 3D Leadership Residency in St. Joseph, Missouri — The City of Coaches — is a two-year profession-based learning experience designed to prepare emerging leaders for life, work, and lasting impact.
What Participants Experience:
- Gain real-world, paid workforce experience
- Develop 1st Dimension professional skills on the job
- Strengthen 2nd Dimension mindset, emotional intelligence, and leadership capacity
- Build 3rd Dimension identity, character, and purpose
- Complete 3D Coaching training as part of a community-wide cohort
Our residents will also have a front-row seat to two 3D Training Camps — a national convention featuring world-renowned coaches and leaders from all over the country and world.
Participants work, grow, lead, and learn inside a real organization while being formed through a citywide leadership ecosystem.
This is not just employment.
It is immersion in a coaching culture designed to prepare them for launch.

Each organizational chapter is committed to operationalizing the 3D Framework inside their workplace to create a transformational coaching culture that drives both success and significance.

- Intrinsically motivated teams
- A community-wide leadership network built on shared purpose
Members gather through citywide leadership breakfasts and 3D Master’s Class cohorts, where community leaders and 3D Leadership Residents engage in shared learning and cross-sector collaboration.
What Makes the 3D Leadership Residency Different?
Participants do not simply work a job. They enter a developmental pathway.
Over two years, participants:
- Receive intentional learning and mentorship inside their host organization
- Participate in the 3D Master’s Class during Year One alongside community leaders
- Serve as mentors to new participants in Year Two
- Build cross-sector relationships throughout the city
- Contribute meaningfully while growing personally and professionally
- Earn a Profession-Based Learning Certificate in partnership with the 3D Institute and ____________ State University.
This model combines:

3D Master’s Class takes place at The Restoration Project, one of the most historical buildings downtown in the City of Coaches.
