Community Impact Project

At The Joseph Company, we believe leadership isn’t just something to be talked about — it’s something to be lived out in service to others.

This fall, participants in our 3D Master’s Class — a nine-week journey of leadership development — are leading this Community Impact Project inspired by the vision shared in the video below. We believe sport has the power to transform lives and unite people around a common purpose, and we want every child to have the opportunity to experience the magic of a healthy sports experience.

The Mission

Help 100 SJSD students in need overcome financial barriers and experience the joy of playing for their school basketball teams.

Together, the cohort is raising $6,000 by November 25 to cover player fees ($60 per student) through the MO Family Sports – Family Assist Fund at the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri.

Counselors within the St. Joseph School District will confidentially verify each student’s financial need and academic eligibility, ensuring that support goes to those who have earned the opportunity by taking care of business in the classroom. Qualified players will then have their fees waived.

In 2021, Ky Turner and other community leaders shared “A Dream for Athletics” in St. Joseph. Now, in 2025, we’re bringing that dream to life and inviting you to join us.

The Plan

On November 25, our 3D Master’s Class will be working for two hours at Felix Square, helping beautify the space ahead of the city’s downtown lighting ceremony on 11/30/25.

Each of the five teams is rallying support toward the $6,000 goal by seeking hourly sponsors for their two hours of service. Would you consider joining us?
