The City of Coaches
A City Built to Launch Dreams
In the 1800s, St. Joseph was the last stop for stagecoaches heading west. It was a destination cityโnot as a landing point, but as a launching point.
Pioneers came here to be resourced, equipped, and launched toward their dreams.

Carrying the Legacy Forward
Today, leaders across St. Joseph are rediscovering what it means to be a coachโnot simply someone who manages or instructs, but someone who helps people move from where they are to where they want and need to go.
To reclaim that identity, our community needed more than an inspiring story. We needed a practical framework for developing leaders who could coach people well, align teams around purpose, and intentionally build culture.
PURPOSE
Building on a Solid Foundation
This is one of St. Josephโs oldest roadsโthe place where stagecoaches once lined up to cross the Missouri River and continue west toward their dreams.
One brick alone seems insignificant. Together, these bricks create a foundation strong enough to carry generations forward.
Purpose works the same way. When individuals clarify why they are here and live it out with intention, their contributions become part of something largerโa community of leaders working together to move people from where they are to where they want or need to go.
CULTURE
A Framework for Building Culture on Purpose
The 3D Coaching Framework gives leaders a practical way to live out the original meaning of a coachโhelping people move toward their potential while building teams and cultures around a shared identity and purpose.
A life-giving culture doesn’t happen by accident. It is intentionally built.

The City of Coaches gives us a shared story. The 3D Coaching Framework gives us a shared process. Together, they produced a shared language.
Over the past five years, hundreds of leaders from every sector of our community have taken the 3D Journey, reflecting on the kind of peopleโand the kind of communityโwe aspire to become.
Across thousands of written reflections, seven recurring themes emerged. Today, those themes serve as our chapterโs Cultural Distinctives, expressing the culture we are building together.
